Manchester United cut short their £235m deal with shirt sponsors TeamViewer only 18 months after the five-year agreement was announced.

Manchester United have ended their £235m shirt sponsorship deal with TeamViewer.

The Red Devils reached a five-year agreement in March 2021 for the German technology company to sponsor their shirts.

Previous reports indicated that TeamViewer were reconsidering their position, and it has now been announced that the £47m-a-year deal will be cut short.

United confirmed in a statement that they had "reached a mutually beneficial agreement under which Manchester United shall have the option to buy back the rights to the club's shirt front sponsorship."

The £235m agreement with TeamViewer was struck during the COVID pandemic, but the statement suggests that United are seeking an improved sponsorship deal under normal market conditions.

TeamViewer will remain a global partner for United, and their name will still be present on the club's shirts until a new sponsor is found.
