Dwight Yorke believes that Manchester United have signed a "quality player" in Shinji Kagawa.

Dwight Yorke has described Shinji Kagawa as a "quality" signing for Manchester United.

Japanese international Kagawa will join the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund in July should he pass a medical and gain a UK work permit.

Discussing the move with Sky Sports News, former United striker Yorke believes that manager Sir Alex Ferguson would not have signed the 23-year-old unless he had complete faith in his ability.

"Sir Alex Ferguson thoroughly researches players before he brings them into the team," said Yorke. "He will have done his homework and I feel he will be a good addition.

"He will be a quality player and one that the Manchester United fans and the Premier League will look forward to see playing."

Kagawa is reportedly costing United around £12m.
