AC Milan 'beat Manchester United to Tiago Djalo signing'

AC Milan reportedly beat the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City to the signature of 18-year-old Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Djalo.

AC Milan have reportedly beaten Manchester United to the signing of Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Djalo.

The 18-year-old's form for Sporting's youth teams is understood to have attracted attention from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

Manchester City have also been credited with an interest in the youngster, while Lazio were reportedly tracking his progress too.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that AC Milan have now won the race for his signature and will complete a deal in the coming days.

Djalo had been due to join the Serie A outfit on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season, but Milan have reportedly brought the deal forward in order to beat other interested parties to his signature.
