Chris Coleman doubts Gareth Bale move to Manchester United

Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale is unlikely to join Manchester United this summer, according to Wales boss Chris Coleman.

Wales head coach Chris Coleman has said that he does not expect Gareth Bale to swap Real Madrid for Manchester United before next week's transfer deadline.

The Welsh international has been linked for much of the summer with the Red Devils, who are said to be prepared to part with a world-record fee to secure his services.

However, when asked for his take on the reports, Coleman admitted that the 26-year-old is likely to remain at the Bernabeu.

"The finances involved for signing a player like that are astronomical," he told reporters.

"I see the media speculation, of course, but that's a major, major deal - another world record if he was going to move. I can't see anything happening. I've not heard anything."

Bale joined Los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
