Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku is reportedly concerned that the club's £70m valuation will price him out of a move to Inter Milan this summer.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is reportedly concerned that the club are pricing him out of a move this summer.

Lukaku is one of a number of high-profile players to have been linked with leaving Old Trafford during what is expected to be a major squad overhaul following a disappointing 2018-19 campaign.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly deems Lukaku surplus to requirements having made Marcus Rashford his first-choice striker and will look to cash in on the Belgian during the current transfer window.

Inter Milan are thought to be leading the race for his signature, but The Mirror claims that the two clubs are still some way off an agreement for the transfer fee.

Inter were hopeful of landing Lukaku for around £50m - or a player-plus-cash swap deal including Ivan Perisic - but United are looking to recoup more of the £75m they spent on him in 2017.

Ed Woodward is reportedly willing to play hardball over the transfer and will demand at least £70m for a player who has scored 42 goals in 96 games for the club.

Inter are expected to make their move for Lukaku once they appoint a new manager, with Antonio Conte the favourite for the post.

Conte tried to sign Lukaku during his time as Chelsea boss and remains keen on the striker, with Inter reportedly willing to match his £175,000-a-week salary.

Lukaku started just 15 of Solskjaer's 29 games in charge of United during the second half of the season.
