Report: Arsenal join Renato Sanches hunt

Arsenal reportedly sent a scout to watch supposed Manchester United target Renato Sanches in action for Benfica at the weekend.

Arsenal have reportedly shown an interest in Benfica playmaker Renato Sanches.

The 18-year-old has been strongly linked with a summer switch to Manchester United, who are said to have scouted him extensively over recent months.

Indeed, some speculation has claimed that talks between the Red Devils and Sanches's agent Jorge Mendes have reached an advanced stage.

However, with no deal agreed, the Daily Mail claims that the Gunners made a check on the Portugal international at the weekend.

The report adds that the Arsenal scout was in attendance to see the youngster scoop the Man of the Match award as Benfica beat Academica 2-1.

It is believed that Sanches has a £60m release clause in his contract at the Estadio da Luz.
