Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is reportedly set to depart the Red Devils, with Valencia eyeing up a deal for the 33-year-old Argentine.

Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero could reportedly be heading for the exit door at Old Trafford during the current transfer window.

The Argentina international has been demoted to third choice at the club following Dean Henderson's return from his loan spell at Sheffield United, with David de Gea still occupying the number one spot.

Furthermore, Romero was believed to have been left frustrated after De Gea was chosen ahead of him for last season's FA Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea - a game that the Red Devils lost 3-1.

According to The Mirror, Romero is keen to end his five-year stint at Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order, and Valencia are hoping to strike a deal for the 33-year-old.

The report claims that the La Liga outfit are willing to pay a fee of £6m for Romero, who now has less than 12 months left to run on his current deal with Man United, while AC Milan are also keeping a close eye on developments.

Romero was left out of the squad for Man United's opening Premier League match of the 2020-21 campaign, with Wilfried Zaha returning to haunt his old club as Crystal Palace ran out 3-1 winners in Manchester on Saturday.
