Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic is in a race against time to be fit for Serbia at the World Cup.
Mitrovic, 28, will miss this weekend's Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday at Craven Cottage.
A foot injury has ruled him out of the game and he now faces a race to be fit in time for his country's opening game of the tournament against Brazil on November 24.
According to the Daily Mail, reports in Serbia have suggested that Mitrovic has been playing on despite two broken bones in his foot since suffering the initial injury while on international duty during September.
Despite the injury, he has been included in Dragan Stojkovic's 26-man World Cup squad and his focus will be on recovering to feature against Brazil, Cameroon and Switzerland in Group G.
Mitrovic has scored nine goals in 12 games in the league for The Cottagers and he sits third in the Golden Boot race behind Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Manchester City's Erling Braut Haaland.
