Steven Taylor: 'I may have to leave Newcastle United'

Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor reveals that he might have to leave the club after falling out of first-team contention.

Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor has revealed that he may have to leave the club in order to get first-team football.

The 27-year-old was sent off in his side's season-opening defeat to Manchester City and has struggled to get back into the team, as Fabricio Coloccini, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Mike Williamson are all ahead of him in the pecking order.

"If I'm not going to get in the team, then obviously we will have to look at something else," Taylor told The Sun.

"But for the moment in time, the manager has come out and said that and we will have to wait and see."

Newcastle are sixth in the Premier League after 16 games so far this season.
