David Ginola has said that he expects Newcastle United's French stars to leave St James' Park if the club are relegated this season.

The Magpies, who travel to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, sit just three points above the drop zone with two games remaining.

Ginola questions the motivation of the likes of Yoan Gouffran, Massadio Haidara, Mathieu Debuchy, Yohan Cabaye and Moussa Sissoko.

He explained: "You have to have the right sort of players for that task and I'm not sure that the players are concerned about it.

"The players are thinking, 'if the club is relegated then we'll leave in the summer'."

Ginola made 58 league appearances for Newcastle between 1995 and 1997.
