Joey Barton: 'Bad eggs have caused Queens Park Rangers' struggle'

Joey Barton claims that "bad eggs" inside the dressing room have been the cause of QPR's struggles this season.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has hinted that "bad eggs" inside the dressing room have caused the club's relegation fight this term.

The Hoops are currently bottom of the Premier League table and are nine points from safety with three games to play.

Barton has suggested that the poor attitudes of a number of his teammates have adversely affected QPR's campaign.

"Whatever happens in the next few games, you have to be able to get up at the end of it and look yourself in the mirror and say you did everything you could for this football club," Barton told Sky Sports News.

"There's certain people who won't be able to do that. It can just be one or two bad eggs who can spoil it for others and if I had my way they would have been out the building a long long time ago before they could affect everyone.

"Luckily for them, I didn't get my way but for me, we all make mistakes, but if you're a wrongun, you're a wrongun."

QPR travel to Manchester City this afternoon, before ending their campaign with a visit from Newcastle United and a trip to Leicester City.
