Anti-racism group 'Kick It Out' insist that they are working hard to eradicate racial discrimination following reports that a host of black players were planning to refuse to wear the group's T-shirts.

Anti-racism group 'Kick It Out' have insisted that they are working alongside all of the relevant bodies to try to stamp out discrimination in football.

The group, which began its week of awareness yesterday, has released a statement following Reading striker Jason Roberts's claims that the campaign does not do enough to eradicate racism.

The statement read: "'Kick It Out' works in partnership with the game's governing bodies, representative bodies, leagues, clubs, players and supporters to raise awareness about inequality and discrimination.

"We are not a decision-making organisation with power and resource as some people think, and can only work effectively in the context of these partnerships.

"We want to look forward to the weeks of action, but crucially beyond that, to ensure we can assist the decision makers in bringing swift, decisive action to perpetrators of discrimination."

A host of Premier League managers across the country have confirmed that their players will be wearing 'Kick It Out' T-shirts ahead of their respective fixtures this weekend.
