Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino urges his side to build on their midweek Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade in order to climb the Premier League table.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has called on his side to build on Wednesday night's Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade.

Spurs have lost six and won just four of their last 15 games across all competitions and go into this weekend's Premier League clash with Sheffield United sitting 11th in the table.

However, victories home and away against Red Star in recent weeks have seen them score nine goals without reply, and Pochettino earmarked Wednesday's triumph in Belgrade - their first away win of the season - as a template to build on.

"The way we dominated the game in the opposition's half on Wednesday is how we need to approach games and it was satisfying to see our plan come to fruition," the Argentine wrote on his pre-match programme notes.

"Wednesday's result was an important three points as well as being a good step to build our confidence. We need to maintain that level as winning games in the Premier League is our immediate focus, starting with today."

Tottenham's tally of 13 points from their opening 11 Premier League games is their lowest at this stage of a season since 2008-09.
