Mauricio Pochettino "proud" of Tottenham Hotspur side

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino declares himself "proud" of his team's display despite their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino has declared himself "proud" of his Tottenham Hotspur players following their 1-0 reverse to Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Sergio Aguero struck the only goal of the game in the first half to leave Spurs seven points adrift of fourth-placed Manchester United in the Premier League table, but Pochettino was pleased with how his squad performed against Manuel Pellegrini's men.

He told Sky Sports News: "I am proud of the players, our performance was good, we deserved more, much, much more than the result.

"We create a lot of chances but didn't score. Congratulations to our players for their efforts. We created more chances than Manchester City, I am very disappointed for the result, but happy for the performance."

Spurs travel to Stoke City next week.
