Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has stated his belief that Luka Modric "loves" the Spanish club.
The Croatian midfielder is widely expected to join Los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days, with talks between the two clubs believed to be at an advanced stage.
Discussing the potential arrival of the midfielder, Argentine international Higuain said that Modric will have a positive impact on the squad.
"I saw Modric at Euro 2012 and also at Tottenham," he told AS.
"He is a player who loves the club and us. I wish to close the deal as quickly as possible if it is for the good of the team."
Modric is expected to command a fee in the region of £30m.
