Spanish champions Real Madrid are reportedly confident of completing the signing of Luka Modric from Tottenham Hotspur over the coming days.
Having accepted that the Croatian midfielder is keen to leave White Hart Lane this summer, Spurs are believed to have entered into negotiations with Los Blancos last week.
The Premier League side are reluctant to sell the 26-year-old to an English rival, which has put Madrid in the driving seat, according to Sky Sports News.
It has been claimed that the two parties are only £2m apart with regards to a transfer fee.
