Tottenham Hotspur, Everton to battle for Keisuke Honda?

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are in contention to sign Keisuke Honda from AC Milan before the end of the transfer window, according to reports.

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have reportedly emerged as contenders for the signature of AC Milan attacking midfielder Keisuke Honda.

The Japan international has been a regular in Sinisa Mihajlovic's side throughout pre-season, but rumours in Italy have suggested that Milan are open to offers for him before the end of the transfer window.

According to Tuttosport, Everton boss Roberto Martinez is considering a move for Honda as he looks to add to the signings of Tom Cleverley and Gerard Deulofeu ahead of the new campaign.

However, the report suggests that Spurs are monitoring the situation closely and could battle the Toffees should the 29-year-old become available.

Honda still has two years remaining on the deal he signed when he arrived from CSKA Moscow in January 2014.
