Sunderland midfielder Craig Gardner is reportedly waiting on learning Pepe Mel's future before making a decision on whether to join West Bromwich Albion this summer.

Sunderland midfielder Craig Gardner's decision on whether to join West Bromwich Albion will reportedly depend on the future of head coach Pepe Mel.

The 27-year-old is believed to have attracted interest from the Baggies as he comes to the end of his Sunderland contract in the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Gardner is waiting to discover whether Mel will continue on as Baggies boss next season before making a decision on moving to The Hawthorns.

West Brom have almost secured their Premier League status, with Norwich City expected to join Cardiff City and Fulham in the Championship.
