Villarreal's Matias Nahuel called into Spain Under-21 squad

Spain Under-21 boss Albert Celades calls Villarreal forward Matias Nahuel into his latest squad as a replacement for Real Madrid teenager Borja Mayoral.

Villarreal attacker Matias Nahuel has been called into the Spain Under-21 team after Real Madrid forward Borja Mayoral was forced to withdraw.

Mayoral had been expected to feature for his country in Thursday's 2017 European Championship qualifier against Georgia, but a hamstring problem has forced the teenager to drop out of Albert Celades's squad.

As a result, Nahuel, who has made 10 La Liga appearances for the Yellow Submarine this season, has been called into the selection.

The 19-year-old has 11 Spain Under-19 caps to his name and has also represented the Under-21 team on one occasion.

The squad will travel to Almeria on Tuesday evening ahead of Thursday's qualifier at the Juegos Mediterraneos stadium.
