Wales midfielder Joe Ledley admits that he expects "a battle" when his side come up against Scotland on Friday evening.

Wales midfielder Joe Ledley has revealed that he hopes that his side can continue to play "the right way" against Scotland on Friday evening.

Ledley is expected to start when Wales take to the field at Hampden Park on Friday night, and while he expects a derby atmosphere, the Celtic player is hoping that his side can avoid playing a long-ball game against their opponents.

The 26-year-old told Sky Sports News: "We know it's a derby and they're going to be up for it. It will be a good atmosphere.

"With the players we've got, it's time for us to go on to a new level and move forward. I think it's going to be a battle, but hopefully we can play the right way, keep the ball on the floor and play from there."

The former Cardiff City star has made 44 appearances for Wales.
