Mamuka Gorgodze coy on Georgia chances against Argentina

Georgia captain Mamuka Gorgodze refuses to talk up his side's chances of beating Argentina in their second match at the Rugby World Cup.

Georgia captain Mamuka Gorgodze has remained coy on his side's chances of beating Argentina in their Pool C clash on Friday.

The European side opened their Rugby World Cup campaign with a surprise 17-10 victory over Tonga at Kingsholm Stadium this afternoon, thanks largely to a dominant scrum, and another win over the Pumas would leave Georgia on the verge of the knockout rounds for the first time in their history.

However, Milton Haig's side will start Friday's match as huge underdogs, and Gorgodze was in no doubt about the challenge that awaited the team.

When asked whether his side could challenge Argentina in the scrum, Gorgodze told reporters: "I don't know. Argentina are one of the best scrummagers in the world, but maybe we change the history. Maybe Georgia will be the best. I cannot say. After the match I can say."

Asked if his side could beat the Pumas, Gorgodze simply added: "No comment."

In addition to Argentina, Georgia take on New Zealand and Namibia in their remaining group games.
