England shooter Charlotte Kerwood has said that it "feels amazing" to win gold in the women's double trap shooting competition at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow earlier today.
The 26-year-old shot 94 from her four rounds to beat India's Shereyasi Singh to the title, while compatriot Rachel Parish won the bronze medal shoot-off.
Kerwood said: "It feels amazing, the Commonwealth Games seem to like me and it's a good event to come to. I was relaxed and laughing because I didn't realise that I was five targets ahead and started thinking there was no pressure.
"I felt like it was slipping away from me a bit at one point, which wasn't good. Now I know what to expect with the crowd and everything else. The weather turned out nice but I was still in a jumper. This morning it didn't look too good but it was lovely.
"I've no time to celebrate unfortunately but I'm in good form for the trap. The trap is what I've been training for and I'm going to be more confident now."
Kerwood previously won gold in the same event in Melbourne in 2006.
