Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman believes that winning the NFC championship game was the equivalent of clinching the Super Bowl.
The Seahawks cruised to their first-ever Vince Lombardi Trophy triumph as they dominated the Denver Broncos in a 43-8 win, after battling to reach the title game with a narrow victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
"The NFC championship was the Super Bowl," Sherman told MMQB.com. "The 49ers were the second-best team in the NFL."
Sherman recorded three tackles in the Super Bowl, but was forced to leave the game in the fourth quarter with an injury.
