Deron Williams has said that he will be able to return to action with the Brooklyn Nets against the New York Knicks today.
The point guard has missed the team's last five games after undergoing cortisone and platelet-rich plasma injections in both of his ankles and has started on the bench this evening.
The 29-year-old told ESPN: "That's the plan. It took me a while last year. It wasn't like it happened overnight. It was a little process but you know I'll only know until I go out there.
"[Yesterday], we didn't do much in practice for me to even tell. We didn't go up and down or anything so mentally it was just another workout today."
Williams has struggled with a string of ankle injuries throughout his NBA career.
