Kobe Bryant sides with youth in All-Star game

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is keen to see younger players feature in the All-Star game.

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is keen to see some younger players feature in the All-Star game next month as he continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

The league's best players will travel to New Orleans on February 16, but with Bryant still recovering he has admitted he would prefer to see the likes of Damian Lillard get recognition.

"I probably won't be able to come back soon enough to put my stamp or make my mark on the game, so my advice would be to focus on these younger players, the Damian Lillards of the world, because they're more deserving to be playing on that weekend," Bryant said, ESPN reports.

Bryant suffered the injury in Memphis on December 17, and although his recovery is going well he has not set a target return date.
