Australia captain Michael Clarke says that his side will improve in time for next summer's Ashes series.

Australia captain Michael Clarke has said that his side will improve following their 4-0 series whitewash defeat to England.

An unbeaten innings of 52 from Ravi Bopara helped England wrap up the ODI series in style with a seven-wicket win at Old Trafford earlier today.

Speaking after the match, Clarke said: "We have no excuses, we came here to win all five games.

"I don't want to take anything away from England, but I will make sure we are as well prepared as we can possibly be for the Ashes."

The first Test of the 2013 Ashes series is scheduled to begin exactly one year today at Nottingham's Trent Bridge.
