England batsman Joe Root has revealed that he is relishing the opportunity to play his first Test match at Headingley.
The Yorkshire player will be in the England side when they face New Zealand in the second Test at the Leeds venue, which begins on Friday.
Root says that he can't wait for the action to get underway.
"It is amazing. It is great to have the opportunity to be here and I have loved every minute of it so far," he told Sky Sports News.
"The wicket varies from game to game. This year quite a lot of runs have been scored on it so it will be interesting to see how it goes this week.
"We want to win and we will definitely be going out there to do that. We want to prepare as best as we can and hopefully we can get things right and start off well."
England won the first Test of their two-match series against the Kiwis by 170 runs.
