Graeme Swann reveals that he found it difficult to keep the news of his captaincy quiet.

Graeme Swann has revealed that he is "delighted" to have been selected to captain England for the upcoming Twenty20 series with the West Indies.

The bowler has taken over the role following injuries to usual skipper Stuart Broad and deputy Eoin Morgan.

Following his appointment, 32-year-old Swann said that it had been difficult to keep the news quiet.

"I'm obviously delighted," he told a press conference. "It's been the hardest thing for me over the last 48 hours - keeping it to myself.

"Andy Flower asked me a couple of nights ago at the ICC dinner whether I'd step in as the interim captain while Broady has his bad shoulder.

"You're always very honoured when things like that happen, and I'm no different."

The matches against the Windies will be played on Friday, September 23 and Sunday, September 25.

Both are being staged at the Kia Oval.
