Aberdeen missed the chance to go top of the Scottish Premier League as they lost 3-2 to Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Pittodrie this evening.
The visitors took the lead when Billy McKay converted Andrew Shinnie's cross.
Aberdeen equalised when Josh Magennis slotted the ball into the net on the stroke of half-time. The defender put his side 2-1 up in the second half with a neat chip, but Gary Warren scored an equaliser before McKay scored the winner with eight minutes remaining.
The win sees Terry Butcher's side leapfrog Aberdeen and Hibernian into second place, level on points with leaders Celtic, who have two games in hand.
Motherwell moved to within a point of the leaders with a 2-1 victory over Dundee United at Tannadice.
Stuart McCall's side went 2-0 up in the opening 10 minutes with goals from Michael Higdon and Jamaican international Chris Humphrey. Jon Daly pulled a goal back for the hosts before half-time but Motherwell held on to move into fifth place.
Ross County and St Mirren played out a goalless draw at Victoria Park to edge further away from bottom club Dundee. St Mirren hit the post in the second half through Sam Parkin and saw John McGinn's effort cleared off the line.
