Ade Azeez: 'Teams fear playing against late-show AFC Wimbledon'

AFC Wimbledon striker Ade Azeez believes that opposition teams "are never going to feel safe" when they face his side due to their never-say-die attitude.

Ade Azeez has claimed that AFC Wimbledon's ability to score late goals will "put fear" into opposition sides.

Eight of the Dons' 12 league points this season have come courtesy of goals in the final 15 minutes of games.

That includes two strikes in the dying stages against Notts County last time out to turn a 1-0 deficit into a dramatic 2-1 win at Kingsmeadow.

Azeez puts this never-say-die attitude, which has seen Wimbledon remain within touching distance of the playoffs, down to the character instilled into the team by boss Neal Ardley.

"Teams playing against us are never going to feel safe," he is quoted as saying by Get West London. "Hopefully that will put fear into our opponents and with that fear mistakes come on their side.

"The gaffer has put that belief in us that whether we are up or down we will make it hard for the other team. Maybe it was a negative mindset before, but this year the gaffer has said forget about last season, we can beat teams both home and away.

"He has given us a new freedom by making us aware of the things that make us a good team."

Wimbledon return to action on Saturday when they travel to take on Luton Town.
