Ajax have confirmed that Kolbeinn Sigthorsson has agreed to extend his contract with the club.
The Icelandic striker's previous deal at the Amsterdam ArenA had been due to expire at the end of the season.
However, despite reports that he could leave the Dutch outfit this winter, the 24-year-old has agreed to fresh terms that run until the summer of 2016.
Sigthorsson, who was heavily linked with moves to Queens Park Rangers and Swansea City during the summer, has scored 33 goals in 98 appearances for Ajax.
