Despite concluding the recently-concluded Championship season with a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Stoke City, Bristol City put together a fine run of form to end the campaign.
Luke Candle and Tyrese Campbell struck within the first 45 minutes to leave Liam Manning's men with work to do after which a Million Manhoef double put the result beyond doubt.
That snapped a streak of seven matches without a defeat for the Cider Army since they were beaten 2-0 by West Bromwich Albion back in March.
On the horizon next is the task of facing off against an opposing outfit who came within touching distance of a place in the League Two playoffs last time out.
Currently on a run of one win from their last seven matches on enemy territory, Tuesday's visitors have work to do at both ends of the pitch if they are to record a rare away triumph here.
Aldershot were denied a fourth win on the bounce in a 2-2 draw against Wingate & Finchley in Saturday's meeting at the Maurice Rebak Stadium.
Goals from Michael O'Donoghue and Obi Ogo saw Tommy Widdrington's men head into the break with a mountain to climb before Tyler Frost and Theo Widdrington levelled matters in the second half.
Consequently, the Shots have now stretched their unbeaten run to six matches, winning four times and drawing on two occasions in that time.
Having suffered a first home defeat in seven matches during their most recent home involvement, Tuesday's hosts will be keen to get back to winning ways in front of their fans.
