Argentina failed to impress in their international friendly 2-0 victory over El Salvador this evening.
The South American team dominated possession throughout the match, but failed to penetrate the El Salvador back line in the opening stages.
It took until the 24th minute for the Argentines to register a meaningful chance, but Carlos Tevez headed over the bar.
They had two more chances in the last five minutes of the first half, with Angel Di Maria's free kick saved by Derby Carrillo and Tevez's shot blocked by a defender.
Tevez was Argentina's liveliest attacking outlet, and his 52nd minute effort went wide of the left post. The Juventus striker was denied once again by Carrillo five minutes later.
Argentina finally broke the deadlock in the 54th minute as Nestor Renderos deflected a shot into his own net.
Mateo Musacchio steered a header towards the right corner, but Carrillo was equal to it and kept the score down.
Federico Mancuello doubled the lead for Argentina late on when he powered the ball into the top left corner from a free kick.
