Martin Demichelis has claimed that Argentina must adopt an aggressive approach to prevent Arjen Robben from being at his best in Wednesday's World Cup semi-final.

Robben's impressive form for the Netherlands has been a key factor throughout his side's campaign, but Demichelis believes that the Bayern Munich winger will struggle to respond to a physical challenge.

"We have to be aggressive, to show the passion of the Argentine players to the Dutch, and especially to Robben," the Manchester City defender told reporters.

"He doesn't like physical contact, so you have to make him feel it and get under his skin.

"He is a phenomenon and it is vital to know which way he goes, but he's not got much edge, he's not a fighter. Therefore you have to attack him because the more you stand off, the nearer to the goal you take him and the less margin of error you have."

The winner in Sao Paulo will meet Germany in Sunday's final after Joachim Low's side thrashed Brazil 7-1 on Tuesday night.
