Report: Jack Wilshere to miss three months

Arsenal and England ace Jack Wilshere faces up to three months on the sidelines with an ankle injury, according to reports.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is reportedly facing up to three months on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

The 22-year-old hobbled off the field at the Emirates Stadium in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United following a challenge by Paddy McNair.

Manager Arsene Wenger revealed on Tuesday that Wilshere would be out "for a while".

The England ace could now be out of action until February if an operation is necessary to repair the damage, according to The Mirror.

The report goes on to state that Wilshere will miss the next eight weeks regardless of whether he needs surgery or not.

It is the latest in a series of long-term ankle injuries for the youngster, having missed the entire 2011-12 campaign due to a stress fracture.
