Arsenal are reportedly bracing themselves for the worst as they expect centre-back Rob Holding to miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
The 23-year-old was stretchered off the field during the Gunners' 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Wednesday after coming out second best in a challenge with Marcus Rashford.
Unai Emery confirmed after the game that Holding has sustained a "big injury" to his knee, but no further updates were provided during Thursday's press conference.
According to The Mirror, however, there are genuine fears that the former England Under-21s international has damaged his cruciate, ruling him out for between six and nine months.
Holding has been used in 16 matches for Arsenal this season, starting 15 of those.
