Bristol City face Manchester City, Chelsea take on Arsenal in EFL Cup semi-finals

Bristol City will face Manchester City in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, while Chelsea will take on Arsenal.

Bristol City have been drawn against Manchester City in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

The Championship side progressed to the final four of the competition after claiming a shock 2-1 win over holders Manchester United at Ashton Gate on Wednesday night.

Man City, meanwhile, reached the semis with a penalty shootout victory over Leicester City after a 1-1 draw following extra time at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night.

The other semi-final tie sees Chelsea face London rivals Arsenal for a place in the final of the competition.

Antonio Conte's side earned a place in the hat with a 2-1 win over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

The Gunners, meanwhile, progressed with a 1-0 win over West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, Danny Welbeck scoring the decisive goal.

The ties will be played in the weeks of January 8 and January 22, with the first legs played at the Etihad Stadium and Stamford Bridge respectively.
