Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Robin van Persie has ended speculation about his future by starting negotiations over a new deal at the Emirates, according to BBC Sport.
The Dutchman has been the centre of speculation after hinting that he may consider a move away from the North London side.
Despite the uncertainty, the French boss is "confident" that the striker will put pen to paper on a new contract.
"He has 18 months to go and I'm confident he'll sign a new deal," Wenger is quoted as saying. "I'm always confident."
The Gunners skipper has racked up nine goals in 13 appearances for Arsenal this season.
