Arsene Wenger: 'Petr Cech can get better'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says that Petr Cech can still improve during his time with the Gunners.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that Petr Cech can still improve as a player during his time at the club.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper joined the Gunners from Chelsea last month after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Cech won 13 honours in 11 years with the Blues, but Wenger is confident that he can still reach new heights.

"Petr Cech was already at the top but I believe that you can never deny that you can improve," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.

"He's at the stage of his career, between 33 and 37, where a goalkeeper can be at his peak and he has the desire [to do that].

"As long as you have the right attitude you can always improve in life. I don't think it's down to different training methods, it's just down to him to keep at the top physically and with his experience he will always improve."

Cech will make his competitive Arsenal debut against Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday.
