Arsene Wenger claims Arsenal "were really unlucky" to lose to Swansea City

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his side "were really unlucky" to lose at home to Swansea City in Wednesday night's Premier League game.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that Arsenal "were really unlucky" in tonight's Premier League defeat to Swansea City.

The Gunners have lost three games in a row for the first time in almost six years and defeat tonight meant that they missed the chance to gain ground on their title rivals, with leaders Leicester City the only team in the top four to pick up anything on matchday 28.

Arsenal took the lead in tonight's game through Joel Campbell but then threw it away as Swansea fought back to make it three wins and four games unbeaten from their recent trips to the Emirates.

The home side hit the woodwork three times and Wenger, whose star goalkeeper Petr Cech pulled his hamstring while running back to his position from a late corner, felt that luck was not on his side.

"I believe we were really unlucky with our finishing and some decisions today," Wenger told reporters. "They had two shots on target and two goals.

"We stopped playing before the first goal because there was a foul on Mesut Ozil. There were hands around his neck and it should have been a free kick for us.

"We need to bounce back very quickly now."

Up next for Arsenal is a trip to North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday lunchtime. Spurs are second and three points ahead of Arsenal going into the game.
