Arsenal keeper Petr Cech suffers hamstring injury in Swansea City defeat

Arsene Wenger says that Petr Cech will miss Saturday's match against Tottenham Hotspur after pulling his hamstring late on in the defeat to Swansea City.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that goalkeeper Petr Cech pulled his hamstring while trying to get back into position after going up for a late corner in the Gunners' Premier League defeat to Swansea City tonight.

Swansea, previously without victory in four, had fought back from a goal down to lead 2-1 when Cech decided to go up for a 95th-minute corner.

Wenger confirmed after the match to the media that Cech has pulled his hamstring and will not play in Saturday's crunch match against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

"Cech got a muscular problem at the end of the game," Wenger told reporters. "He will not play on Saturday. I have full faith in [David] Ospina."

Wenger also said that Laurent Koscielny, who missed tonight's game with a calf problem, would not recover in time to face Spurs.

Arsenal have lost three games in a row for the first time in almost six years and remain six points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City.
