AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed that he once turned down the offer of a trial at Arsenal.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger handed the Swede a chance to impress during his youth career with Malmo in 2000.
However, Ibrahimovic felt that the French coach didn't do enough to convince him to join the club.
"Arsenal came and said they were interested so we went there, and when I arrived I got the impression from Wenger that it was more kind of 'I want to see how good you are, or what kind of player you are,'" the 30-year-old told Goal.com. "It was like it was a trial.
"I was like 'Man, I didn't come here for a trial. Like, are you interested or are you not interested?' I wanted them to convince me to come, that's what I had in my mind before we went.
"So it was totally like 'No, I didn't come for a trial' because you either want a player or you don't want a player."
Ibrahimovic scored a penalty as Milan defeated Arsenal 4-0 on Wednesday evening.
