Martin Keown: 'Arsenal need more belief'

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown says that his old team need to have more belief if they are to win the Premier League following their 0-0 draw at home to Chelsea.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes that his old side need to start offering more in "the big games" if they are to become Premier League champions.

The Gunners drew 0-0 with Chelsea on Monday evening to miss out on going back to the summit of the table, and Keown claims that they need to have more belief if they want to end their 10-year wait for the title.

He told the Daily Mail: "To be champions, you have to play like champions and Arsenal need to start offering more in the big games with regards to their performance.

"They have to play with more arrogance because a really convincing win over your rivals fills you with confidence and tells the group they can achieve something during the season.

"Arsenal rode their luck at times, especially in the first half. They didn't threaten the Chelsea goal enough."

The stalemate leaves Arsene Wenger's side in second behind leaders Liverpool.
