Martin Keown reveals Roberto Martinez admiration

Former Arsenal and Everton centre-back Martin Keown reveals his admiration for Roberto Martinez following the Spaniard's season with the Toffees last term.

Ex-Arsenal and Everton defender Martin Keown has revealed that he would have loved to have played under Roberto Martinez.

The Toffees boss won widespread plaudits for his adaptation to coaching the Blues last term, and the Spaniard narrowly missed out on a Champions League place in his first season at Goodison Park.

Keown told the Daily Mail: "What manager would I have loved to have played under? Roberto Martinez.

"He's one of the few Premier League managers I saw at the World Cup, which suggests he is a real student of the game.

"I want to find out what his training methods are and how he has managed to improve Everton so much."

Everton begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to Leicester City on August 16.
