Martin Keown: 'Arsenal need more pace'

Martin Keown believes that Arsenal need more pace in midfield ahead of the new season.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has claimed that the team needs more pace in midfield ahead of the new season.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made four signings so far this summer, including Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona for around £30m.

While admitting that Arsenal already have a wealth of talent in midfield, Keown would like to see more dynamism in the side.

"I feel that you have too look at the mobility in midfield and how much pace is in there. It's not an emergency - he's got so many midfield players - but it's probably some pace that he wants to introduce to the team," he told Sports Mole.

Arsenal are back in action on Sunday when they play Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium.
