Defender Shkodran Mustafi says that he only cares about the commitment of Arsenal pair Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, not their contracts.

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has insisted that he 'does not care too much' about Mesut Ozil's and Alexis Sanchez's ongoing contract situation at the Emirates Stadium.

The star duo only have six months remaining on their existing contracts, and there have been no indications that either man is close to penning a new deal in North London.

However, Mustafi has claimed that he pays little attention to developments behind the scenes, providing that his teammates are 'giving everything' on the pitch.

The 25-year-old is quoted by the London Evening Standard as saying: "Obviously, they are important – they are two big players. Alexis has been scoring a lot of goals, Mesut has been scoring and assisting a lot of goals so obviously they are very important because they are top class players.

"The headlines, that is something really personal for them. They decide [their futures] with the manager so I don't care too much about it. The only thing we care about is when they are on the pitch, they give everything. That makes it for me, easier, because when I see the people in front give everything, it makes me want to give everything as well."

Mustafi and Sanchez should feature when Arsenal face Chelsea on Wednesday night, but Ozil remains a doubt with a knee injury.
