Gary Neville slams Arsenal players for having "no respect" for one another

Gary Neville lambasts Arsenal's players for "abandoning" and showing "no respect" for one another in their 3-2 defeat to Stoke City at the weekend.

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has heavily criticised Arsenal's players for "abandoning" each other and not protecting their struggling teammates.

The 39-year-old laid into Arsene Wenger's team while analysing the Gunners' 3-2 defeat to Stoke City during Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show.

Neville placed blame on the senior players for leaving Calum Chambers and Hector Bellerin exposed at the Britannia Stadium, while also lambasting the team for not tracking back and providing cover.

"It makes my blood boil when you see players suffering on a football pitch or you see [young players] struggling," Neville said on last night's show.

"It's your duty to sacrifice your own game and cover him. It's your duty. Forget your own game, forget scoring goals, particularly the full-backs, I think they're getting exposed.

"They have no respect for each other at times. Abandoning ships is a good point, but abandoning each other is unforgivable. You can't abandon each other on a football pitch."

Arsenal are sixth in the Premier League table, four points off fourth-placed West Ham United and 13 behind leaders Chelsea.
