Everton have "reached an agreement" to sign Carlos Alcaraz on an initial loan deal from Flamengo.
The 22-year-old played for Southampton between January 2023 and January 2024 before joining Juventus on loan.
The Old Lady had the chance to sign Alcaraz on a permanent basis last summer but rejected the move, and the attacker instead made the move to Brazilian outfit Flamengo on a contract until August 2029.
However, Alcaraz is seemingly set for a return to the Premier League with Everton.
Flamengo have released a statement on their official website revealing that an agreement has been reached over an initial loan deal, which involves "a mandatory purchase clause" subject to certain conditions being met.
Alcaraz has scored three times and registered two assists in 19 appearances for his current side.

Palace 'interested in Milan defender'
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan defender Strahinja Pavlovic on loan, with the Eagles said to be in discussions with the Italian outfit over a move.
According to the Daily Mail, talks are ongoing between the two parties, with Palace looking to boost their squad before the end of the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old only made the move to Milan from Red Bull Salzburg last summer, and he has made 17 appearances for the Italian giants this season, including 11 outings in Serie A.
"One more day to go and let's see what happens but I think we will have at least one more signing. We need one," Palace head coach Oliver Glasner said after his side's 2-0 win over Manchester United.
"Not to talk about where it will be but I think everyone can imagine. I think this signing will happen. Maybe we are also looking for a centre-back. It's not a must but I'm pretty confident that there will be one signing."
Palace are also being heavily linked with a move for Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell.

Newcastle 'reject' Targett approach from Watford
Elsewhere, Newcastle United have allegedly rejected a loan offer from Watford for Matt Targett.
The Magpies have reportedly agreed to allow Lloyd Kelly to make the move to Juventus, and as a result, the club are unwilling to let another left-back option leave in the latter stages of the winter transfer window.
According to Sky Sports News journalist Keith Downie, Newcastle have rejected the loan approach from the Hornets, while it is unlikely that the Championship outfit will return with a permanent offer.
The 29-year-old has only made two appearances for Newcastle during the 2024-25 campaign, with one of those coming in the Premier League, and he is down the pecking order when it comes to the left-back spot at the club.
Targett has another 18 months left to run on his contract at St James' Park, and his situation could be revisited this summer.
