The president of Rwanda calls for Arsene Wenger to step down as the manager of Arsenal.

The president of Rwanda has called for Arsene Wenger to step down as the manager of Arsenal.

The Frenchman's tenure at the Emirates Stadium has again been called into question following three consecutive Premier League defeats.

Now, Paul Kagame is the latest person to lend his voice to the growing support for Wenger's departure.

"I very much support Arsenal - but to be honest Wenger needs to coach another team now and Arsenal needs another coach," he tweeted.

"When a good team (players) and a good coach fail for long to deliver, one of them has to change, or even both!!

"The real/main danger is for anyone to get used to mediocre/lacklustre performance and/or results and accepts to live with it ... or keeps finding excuses for it!!!"

Wenger wrote to Kagame in 2007 in honour of the politician's 50th birthday.
