Andre Santos admits that he is hoping for a return to the Brazil team once he finds form for Arsenal.

Arsenal's Brazilian full-back Andre Santos has admitted that he is dreaming of a recall to the national team once he has found form for the Gunners.

Santos revealed that Arsene Wenger has helped him get over the disappointment of losing his Brazil place during a rollercoaster first season in north London.

He told Champions magazine that an error in a friendly against Germany cost him his place in the Selecao squad.

Santos said: "I was singled out for two episodes while my overall contribution was forgotten. I should have been prepared, Brazilian supporters and media are always prone to noting mistakes.

"Zico is one of Brazil's most important players, but he got a lot of stick for missing a penalty in the 1986 World Cup. If it happened to him...

"Arsene said the way to get back into the national team was to look forward and focus on what I can do now. I'll take his advice."

The 29-year-old is yet to start a match for Arsenal this season, with Kieran Gibbs holding down the left-back position in the early stages of the campaign.
